Follow Up Appointment - And Funny Story :-)

Today was Meghan's Follow Up Appointment - she's now 14lbs and 1oz. Wow. We spoke with the Dr and informed him how the meds seemed to be helping her on most fronts except her passing stool. He said to put 1tbsp of cereal in one of her feedings a day. (In total contradiction to what he said last week...)

We're on our way out of the office and I told Scott we needed to stop and get cereal for Meghan...to which he replies (in all seriousness) "Why? I have Cheerios at home." I felt bad, but I was laughing so hard I was crying. That will be one for the baby book! I explained cereal to him and he said "oh, I was wondering how we were going to get Cheerios through the nipple..."

Medicine

The medicine really seems to be working - and I'm happy to report that I gave her tonight's dose ALL BY MYSELF! She even took most of it...only drooled a tiny bit.

Her fussiness has gotten so much better...she still has a few periods, but she's such a happy baby normally, that it's all good...she's got to exercise her lungs, right? :-)

In other news - we should be starting to move stuff into the proper rooms this week...I can't wait. As much as I love having her right next to me she can't sleep in my room forever (though it will make her teenage years/curfew much easier) and I think we'll both sleep better (me because I won't be checking on her every little noise she makes and her because she won't keep having my finger shoved under her nose to make sure she's still breathing...I'm getting better)

Pictures

Just a few of my recent favorites!

Prevacid is my hero!

We now have our happy baby back. She's doing so much better on the Prevacid...now if only we could get her to take the meds easier!

Doctor's Appointment

Meghan had yet another Dr's appointment today. After getting into a "disagreement" on the phone with the nurse, they told us to bring her in. We get there, the Dr looks at her and her history and says "she has reflux." Guess what? That's what I suggested 2 1/2 MONTHS AGO and they told me that it couldn't be reflux (A) because of her age (she was 4 days old at the time) and (B) because of how uncommon it is in newborn females. She starts Prevacid tonight.

She's up to 13lbs, 9.6oz. Wow!

Uncle Joey: Take Two

We went back up to Mom and Dad's and had dinner with Mom, Dad, Grandma and Joey. Meghan got to play on her playmat a little and she was watched over by the stuffed moose her Uncle brought her. She also sat on his lap for a little while (until she started crying) and then promptly passed out on a blanket on the floor! :-P

Uncle Joey

Today Meghan got to meet Uncle Joey. We went to the airport with Mom and Dad when they picked him up...she even had a special outfit on to greet him with!

(For those of you who don't know, that's her Daddy holding her)

This Little Piggy...

My goodness...our little girl isn't so little. She's now weighing 12lbs, 9.6oz and measures 24 inches long! She's in the 90th percentile for both. All this for a girl who still wears the newborn sizes! She had 3 shots today along with an oral vaccination. Poor thing cried like heck (but only for a little while) and has been "passed out" since...(that's where the picture on the left came from!)

She has to have 2oz of prune juice a day now (instead of 1oz) and after she finishes this batch of formula (maybe a week/week and a half) she'll be switched to "Alimentum"...the Dr thinks she's having issues because of a protein-sensitivity. If that works, great, if not, we'll try another formula. But I now have a can of formula and multiple singles to use up...shouldn't be too hard with the little piggy she's being!

Meghan and I then went to the bank where we opened up her savings account...the people at the bank fell in love with her (surprise surprise!)...

So today is going to be a "Mommy's Getting Stuff Done" day...my checkbook hasn't been balanced in a month!

(As a side note, she's now slept upstairs in her bassinet for the last THREE nights!)
