Walker
Monday Mom and I went shopping and ended up at Babies 'R Us. (Hide your shock). We decided to put Meghan in a walker to see what she would do and she had a BLAST! She seemed to think she was hot shit. Granted, she could only go backwards and side to side, but she was moving. Not that she knew what she was doing, but she even put her hands on the wheel.

These are from the next day when we got it set up...

Tooth Number 4
I was looking today and we now have tooth number 4...Holy Moly, where does the time go?
Meghan's apparently decided that maybe she will try the whole crawling thing - she's learned to go backwards, now we just need her to go forwards. She's still standing with assistance and doing pretty well.
She had a bloody nose on Monday - still don't know how she did it, but she did nonetheless... *sigh*

Scary
Today was one of the scariest days of my life. Meghan and I were sitting in the kitchen. She was sitting in her highchair eating a teething biscuit (which she has done before, plenty of times) and I was eating lunch right next to her. All of a sudden she starts gagging a little ... which she tends to do ... I look up at her to check, just to make sure, and she's no longer gagging and she's deep red/purple. Scared the hell out of me. Thankfully, years of being a Paramedic kicked in. I grabbed her out of the high chair (took two attempts because I forgot to unstrap her the first time and lifted the whole thing up) and had to actually perform the Heimlich on her ... I get the cookie piece out, she starts crying (a crying baby is a breathing baby so I didn't mind), and then proceeds to vomit alllll over the place.
I was fine through the whole "incident" but afterwards, I had a hard time holding it together...it's so much different when it's your own child you're "working on". Because my nerves were shattered, I called Scott...who was working and was on a traffic stop. So I tell the dispatcher (who I work with when I work 911) that I just need him to call me as soon as he clears. I finally get ahold of him and he tells me he is on his way. Next thing I know, I hear sirens. Initially I assumed it was him, then I realized that they were ambulance sirens...I look out front and there is the ambulance. Rob gets out and comes over and asks what happened. So I did a run down. They ask if I want her to go to the hospital/ER, which I didn't, I knew she was fine. I asked Scott why he had called the ambulance and apparently all he heard on the phone was "Meghan" "choking" and "heimlich"...nothing else.
When I left for work an hour or two after, she had been re-fed and passed out cold...poor thing :-(
