What does a pirate say?

ARGH! Meghan dressed up as a pirate for Halloween and was a very cute one, at that. (not that I'm biased or anything). If you asked her what a pirate said, she would cock her head, curl her lip, bend her arm and say "argh"...hehehe. She did her "traditional" rounds...went with daddy in the morning to see some of his friends while I got dressed and then Meghan and I were off to see the grandmas...She especially loved "the butterfly" (Nadine) and even dragged her through the school. She went with Grandma MJ to the parade that night and loved the "Happy Parade" as she called it...she ended her night with a trip to me at work and a root beer float.

OH...and in the last picture she's hugging her 2 foot tall "Winnie the Pooh" that she had to have and Daddy promised her he would get her.

Cellulitis

So apparently Meghan had cellulitis. Her (not normally seen) pediatrician's nurse slipped up and told us and that's the only way we found out. When I brought it up to the pediatrician he spoke to us as if he had mentioned that little tidbit and then went on his way. At least we knew what it was. Oh...and for any keeping track, this is the same pediatrician that I had to fight with to get the reflux diagnosis for her...maybe the third time (heaven forbid there is one) will be the charm and he'll realize I really do KNOW my daughter.

Meghan's Leg...

is 100 times better...it seems to have completely resolved with the medication...she's acting much more like herself, too, which is nice.

NOT a Histamine Reaction

Photobucket

Photobucket

Nearly a week had passed and it still wasn't improving so back to the Peds Office we went...the site is infected...she's been on an antibiotic for 2 days now and there has been a marked improvement. The pictures above are showing what it looked like pre-anitbiotics...

Histamine Reaction

Meghan got stung by a bee on Sunday night...little bastard was hiding in my car waiting. OK, so maybe not that dramatic, but one would have thought that. He got her twice. Once on the back of the left thigh and another on the outside of her right calf. Poor thing FREAKED *understandbly*. Mom and I could.not.figure.out what the problem was. We got her inside and finally found out what the problem was. Sprayed her with a little Benadryl, put her back in the car (after killing the bee and tossing his ass in the burn barrel) and drove home. Got her home, she went to bed and slept until 8am. When she woke up in the morning she was fine and there was very little sign of what had happened the night before.

Fast forward to this morning. She wakes up and starts telling me she has an 'ouchie'...I ask her to show me and she points to the back of her leg. I look at it and the bee sting site has swollen again and there's a lovely little rash around it...I call the Peds to see what they have to say (since it was free and clear and now it was returning) and they said to bring her in...we get an appointment. There was enough time to make a few errand stops so we do so...while we're in Office Max she starts getting the blotches all over her face...primarily on her forehead. Daddy shows up, we show him, and then head over to the Doc's office. By the time we get there they're mostly gone (ain't that the way it always is?) and there's only a small section of them on her cheek under her left eye.

The pediatrician checks her out and rules it a "Histamine Reaction"...so now she's on Benadryl every 6 hours until it clears. Poor sweetie.

"Face" Painting

I went to Michael's Grand Opening with with mommy and grandma today and they had face painting. A really cool lady put an island on my arm! I sat really still and am still guarding it 2 days later.
